HungarySpaGuide.com earns money through affiliate links. If you book something after following a link on this site, we may earn a small commission. The price you pay is exactly the same either way.
This page explains what that means in practice, and what it does not mean.
Which programmes we use
The site participates in the GetYourGuide affiliate programme, which covers thermal bath tickets, spa packages, tours, cruises and similar experiences.
The site also participates in the Booking.com affiliate programme through the CJ Affiliate network, which covers hotels, spa hotels and apartments. Booking.com pays commission only on stays that actually happen — a booking that is cancelled earns us nothing.
Where a link on this site goes to an affiliate partner, it is marked with rel="sponsored nofollow" and opens in a new tab, and the page carries a disclosure line above the fold before the first link appears.
What we do not do
No display advertising. There are no banner ads on this site and no ad network scripts serving them.
No sponsored content. No bath, hotel, tour operator or tourism board pays to appear here, and none has editorial input. There are no paid posts, no paid links, no guest posts and no gifted reviews.
No products of our own. Nothing is sold on this site.
The rule that matters
Commission never decides a ranking. Where a guide on this site ranks baths or hotels, the order reflects who each option actually suits — price, crowds, opening hours, how far it is from the centre.
This is not a promise that costs nothing to keep. Some of the recommendations here earn no commission at all. Anna Baths in Szeged cannot be booked through any affiliate partner, and it still gets a full write-up. Rudas does not sell a plain entry ticket through GetYourGuide, so that guide sends you to the bath’s own site instead. Where the honest answer is the cheaper option, or the one that pays nothing, that is the answer you get.
If a guide ever recommends something that looks like it was chosen for the commission rather than for you, that is a failure, and it is worth telling us about.
How affiliate links work
When you click an affiliate link, the partner records that the visit came from this site, usually with a cookie. If you then book, the partner attributes the sale here and pays a percentage of their own margin. Some partners, including accommodation providers, only attribute a booking if it is completed in the same browsing session as the click.
We do not see your booking details, your payment details or your personal data. What comes back is aggregate reporting: how many clicks, how many bookings, how much commission.

Why the site is funded this way
Affiliate commission is what allows the guides to be free to read and to be updated on a schedule rather than left to rot. It also keeps the money one step away from the businesses being written about: a bath cannot buy a better ranking here, because it is not the one paying.
Prices on this site carry the month and year they were checked. If you find one that has moved, send it over and it gets fixed.
